Objective

UniBridges, an innovative platform aimed at streamlining the transition from secondary education to university, sought to identify the pain points and preferences of their target users—high school students, parents, and educators. The goal was to refine their product prototype to better meet user needs and improve overall user experience.

Approach

Pramanity Research Services adopted a comprehensive research methodology involving usability tests, in-depth user interviews, and surveys.
 

  1. Usability Testing:

    • Conducted usability tests on UniBridges' prototype with a representative sample of high school students, parents, and educators.

    • Observed how users interacted with the prototype to identify usability issues and areas of friction.

    • Collected quantitative data on task success rates, time taken to complete tasks, and error rates, complemented by qualitative feedback.
       

  2. In-Depth User Interviews:

    • Conducted detailed interviews with users to gain a deeper understanding of their experiences, needs, and expectations.

    • Explored the challenges faced by users in the transition from high school to university.

    • Gathered specific feedback on the prototype’s features, design, and functionality.
       

  3. Surveys:

    • Distributed comprehensive surveys to a broader audience of potential users.

    • Collected data on user preferences, perceived usefulness of features, and overall satisfaction.

    • Analyzed survey responses to identify common themes and user priorities.

Findings

The research identified several key insights:

  • Users found the registration process cumbersome and suggested simplifying it.

  • There was a need for more personalized guidance and resources tailored to individual user profiles.

  • The platform's navigation was not intuitive, leading to difficulties in finding information quickly.

  • Users expressed a desire for a community feature to connect with peers and mentors.

Based on our findings, UniBridges implemented several improvements:
